How to Get Rid of Headaches and Migraines Using Eucalyptus Oil

As soon as a headache starts to make its way around your eyes and ears, you know you’re in for a battle, and the battle could knock you out all day. Not only do you want to have a dependency on strong pain killers, but your stomach can’t handle them. They’re harsh and toxic and can lead to serious illness. Instead, it’s important to treat the problem naturally as well as try to treat the root of the problem.

Migraines and headaches are most commonly the result of extreme tension in the neck, shoulders and back. They can also be the side effect of dietary or other allergic sensitivities and illnesses, so don’t rule those out if you haven’t already checked with your doctor. But since most are tension related, I want to share some ways to alleviate the pain quickly and naturally, as well as maintain your body to avoid more pain in the future.

First of all, remember that all the muscles, nerves and bones in your body are interconnected. If you’re having a headache on the left side of your head, it could be a result of tightness in the right hip, because the muscles cross over and intertwine all over the body. So when you start to feel a headache, begin to stretch from toe to head – yes, in that direction.

Start by standing tall and rolling your feet and ankles. Move to stretching your hamstrings and lower back by bending forward. Twist right and left a few times while bent over. Alternate arching your spine forward and outward and then roll back up into standing. From there, roll your shoulders backwards and stretch your arms up and out, while rotating your hands up, down, in and out. You should feel this in your forearms especially. Then move to your neck. First straighten your spine, imagining making your neck extra long. Once you’ve elongated your neck, lean it to the right, then to the left and then down with your chin to your chest.

From there, gently take your hand and add a little bit of pressure to your head in the direction of your stretch to take it a little further.

Take as much time as you need on each area of the body. Spend more time on areas that have more resistance or tension – but don’t force or strain anything.

To really get the most out of this, add a few sprays of our Lavender-Infused Eucalyptus Oil Shower Mist to your hot shower (with the bathroom door shut to trap the heat) or add it to a steam room or sauna, and then do the stretches. The heat will relax your muscles while the eucalyptus reduces the inflammation and increases circulation.

This method is incredibly beneficial and helpful. So if you are one that suffers from migraines, headaches, be sure to grab a bottle of our Lavender-Infused Eucalyptus Oil ShowerMist to experience calming, natural relief.

How to Beat Morning Muscle Stiffness Naturally

If your body wakes up sore and stiff in the morning, we want to talk to you. First of all, waking up with sore and stiff muscles should never be considered normal. If that’s normal for you, then your body is simply getting used to having a need not met. So let’s help you with your body stiffness naturally.

How? Here are the top ways to beat morning muscle stiffness:

Beat Morning Muscle Stiffness Naturally

  1. Stretch: This is the first tip because it’s so necessary. No matter how you eat and live, your muscles need to be stretched. It’s best to stretch them before bed and after you wake up.
  2. Hydrate: Muscles need water. If your muscles are dehydrated, they can’t function smoothly and will cramp up.
  3. Calcium/Magnesium: This is a supplement you should definitely look into. Calcium with magnesium feeds the muscles with what they need to grow, contract well, and relax. Take before bed to fall into a restful sleep and avoid sleep cramps.
  4. Limit Caffeine and Alcohol: Both are incredibly dehydrating to the muscles, and both deplete your body of calcium and magnesium. If you do need to have one of the above, drink extra water and boost your vitamin-mineral intake.
  5. Heat and Eucalyptus: Our Eucalyptus Oil ShowerMist is high quality, not processed or diluted, and has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe sore or stiff muscles. Eucalyptus Oil can help relax stiff muscles, allowing for pain relief and better range of motion. The best way to enjoy Eucalyptus is in the steam of a shower or in the heat of the sauna. Need tips on that? See below:
    1. Add 3-5 drops of straight Eucalyptus oil directly onto sore muscles. Slowly massage into skin. (It’s a strong oil though, and it may be best to dilute with coconut oil first until you know how your body responds).
    2. Add 15-50 drops of Eucalyptus oil to a hot bath. Combined with the benefits of the oil, the heat of the water encourages muscle relaxation and reduces next-day stiffness. For additional benefits, Epsom salts can be added to the water as well.
    3. The easiest option is to get our Eucalyptus Oil ShowerMist and simply spray it into the hot steam of your shower, or any sauna or steam room. You’ll not only enjoy the relaxation in your muscles, but you’ll also be breathing in the anti-inflammatory properties of the Eucalyptus.

Remember, the body has an amazing ability to heal itself when supported well through lifestyle and proper health habits. Pain in the body is also a sign of something else going on, so in addition to getting relief naturally, be sure to investigate the cause with your doctor or natural medicine practitioner.
